About Us

Maple Labradors emerged from our devotion and love for this incredible breed. Like the dependable maple trees that surround our home nestled in the hills of Hinesburg, Vermont, the labrador is strong, sweet, and beautiful.

I was raised surrounded by German Shepards and horses, enthralled with their intelligence and devotion. While in college, I started grooming dogs while I pursued a degree in Biology. Following graduation, I worked for an animal nutritional supplement company. After my beloved German Shepherd unexpectedly died of cancer, my close friend entrusted me to care for her adult chocolate Labrador. His name was Diesel and he taught me that love is endless. Like many others, I realized that the amiable Labrador is the perfect companion. Sturdy and sweet, Diesel welcomed my two boys into the world. Our two current yellow Labradors, Axl and Ellie, joined our busy family and currently provide endless snuggles, companionship, and pure joy. Labradors have seamlessly fit into all stages of our lives – days filled with long hikes, afternoons teeming with toddler tantrums, and a house bursting with boisterous boys. I started showing Ellie and learned more about the standards of this incredible breed. I was impressed by the extended community dedicated to preserving it. When I started dog breeding, my priority was to ensure the puppies were as healthy as possible. After losing a young dog to cancer, I understand the importance of quality breeding. Fortunately, I met many wonderful breeders and mentors who have helped me along the way. I am greatly appreciative of the community built from mutual adoration of Labradors.

In short, Maple Labradors evolved from love. Our small breeding program strives to produce beautiful, healthy Labrador Retrievers. The perfect family dog, that is also versatile enough to compete in conformation, obedience, scent work, dock diving, hunting and beyond. I breed and love the “bench” type of Labradors. This type of Labrador is bred to fit into the breed standard. Thank you for visiting our site and your interest in our dogs.
